Placing an Order
Our collection of products offers the ability to customize your invitation, photo card or announcement with personalized text, fonts, colors and photos. The information below will help you easily place your order online. Be sure to read our Frequently Asked Questions section for more helpful information.
Customizing your Order
Consider the amount of text you would like to include and the amount of available space on the card. Use the sample text shown as a guide.
If you are considering a photo card, be sure to match the shape of the photo box to the shape of the photo you'd like to include. (For example, a vertical photo fits better in a vertical box.)
After you select a design click the pink "Personalize" button. This will take you into our Design Studio where you can personalize your order and view an instant proof before placing your order.
Adding a Photo
If you are placing a photo on your card, click the "Upload" button in the photo bin area.
If you are using a professional photograph on your photo card, a copyright release is mandatory for the customer to use a professional photograph in the order. You can download a copy of the release here.
A pop-up window will appear where you will be able to select from your computer which photos you would like to upload. Make sure all of your images are sized correctly (see our Photo Requirements), otherwise the photo will not upload.
Select the photo you wish to use from the photo bin and drag it onto your card. A box will appear on your card that says, "There was a problem uploading the photo. Your photo should be a .jpg (or .jpeg) at least 1 MB and under 6 MB in size," if the photo is not large enough for the selected card.
If your photo is not large enough for the selected card, refer to our photo requirements to select a photo that is the right size. We will be unable to use a photo that is too small. If the Design Studio doesn't allow you to upload the photo, please do not select the option to email your photo. If the photo bin indicates the photo is too small, we will not be able to use it even if you email the file.
You are able to change a color photo to black and white, sepia or back to the original format. You can also zoom in / zoom out, drag or rotate your photo for the perfect orientation.
If you would like to choose a different photo, click the Photo Bin tab and hover your mouse over the photo in your bin. A red X will appear. Click this X to delete your photo and then drag a new photo onto your card.
Add Personalized Text
To begin adding text, determine if you would like your card to look like the sample, or if you would prefer to create your own design. First, you must select the appropriate tab that corresponds with your choice.
If you would like your card to be typeset like the Polka Dot Design sample, select Option One. Our professional typesetters will use your custom text to make your card look like the online sample. Simply type your text in the box. You will not need to choose a typestyle or format it accordingly. Our professional typesetters will do all the work for you. When finished entering your text, click "Next." A professional typesetter will prepare a proof for your approval within 1-2 business days.
To make specific requests, such as color or sizing requests, click the link below the text toolbox that says, "Special Instructions to Typesetter."
If you would like to typeset the card yourself, instead of like the Polka Dot Design sample, select Option Two. To add personalized text to your card, click the "Add Text Box" link. Now, the only limit is your imagination! You can use an unlimited amount of text boxes, using your own fonts, sizes and text colors.
If you chose to select your own fonts and colors, enter your personalized text in the respective text boxes. You can select the size, color and typestyle from the menus available. Your text will appear on your card, and you can drag it around as desired. For each new typestyle, font size or color, you will need to create a new text box. Click the "Add Text Box" button to create each new text box.
To edit the existing text, simply click the tab for the text box you would like to edit.
If you would like to remove text, click the pink "Delete Text Box" link on the right side of each of the text tabs.
When you've finished with your photos and text, click the pink "Next" button.
Return Address Printing
For many of our products, you can request to have the return address printed on the back flap of your envelopes. To select this option, click the "Envelopes" tab to add printed return addresses. Our professional typesetters will design your return address using the same fonts and colors as your card. The return address will be centered on the back flap of your envelopes.
Instead of printing the return address directly on your envelopes, you can select matching address labels. Enter your personalized text into the text box. Our professional typesetters will design your address label using the same fonts and colors as your card. You will receive a proof for your return address label which does require your approval before printing. Your order will not ship until we receive approval of all your order's items.
Finalizing Your Order
After finalizing your design in the Design Studio, you will be able to view a quick summary of the items in your Shopping Cart.
A proof for your order will be uploaded into your online account through our website within 1-2 business days, which you will have to approve before your order is printed.
If you choose the option to email us your photo, your proof will be uploaded into your online account through our website within 1-2 business days after we receive your photo.
Once we receive your final approval to print, the in-house processing time is 1-2 business days before your order leaves our facility.
